Advice from a teacher

While standing in line waiting to buy Christmas presents I tend to meet many interesting people. One day I met a teacher. We started talking about shopping with children and she ended up telling me some of the child discipline methods she used. Here are two of the best tips she gave me. Children always want something and it can be the cause of many arguments when you are shopping. She would keep a notebook in her purse and would write down anything that the children wanted. They were happy that their wants were being listened to, and they would get a chance to go over these when the situation wasn't so emotional. The next tip was about who gets to decide when you are with two children. Instead of arguing about this, one child gets to decide on odd days and the other child would get to decide on even days. And the month with 31 days? Mom would get to decide on the 31st. These are simple discipline ideas to incorporate that can save you a lot of disruption in your life. I was so glad to be standing in line next to her. |
